Slow day at first, but on the runout tide, bait was spotted at 9m deep in 10m of water. I had 5 inch weighted fly and fast sinking line on, so down she went.. up came a decent tailor about 50cm, and next cast, a nice school jewfish. Fast retrieve for the tailor, slow retrieve for the jewfish.

Also, near akuna bay and maybe 30m from me, a 1m to 1.5m shark jumped straight up and well clear of the water. Dark bronze back and white belly... so bronze whaler? I've never seen one jump like that before. In any case, it didn't take my fly.
